Rapper / Actor Saigon features 2X underground music award winner Quesfire in new record entitled "Haitian Food". This upbeat record produced by Clev Trev keeps the energy throughout song and these days that's rare. What makes this song so special isn't only beats and rhymes but a topic many of us love Haitian Food. Saigon's funny sarcasm and on point delivery raps about somebody offering Chinese food and almost catching his knife. The chorus alone is straight up no filter " Ain't nothing Fu*king with Haitian Food" getting right to point about how amazing this food is. Quesfire who is featured on 2nd verse as well serves up his side to this theme but adds a twist to song mixing Creole,French and English in his verses as he references more of a no nonsense talk throughout his flow.
The music video was shot in Nanuet, NY by music video director James Calinda who uses scenes in which Haitian food is being cooked leaving viewers very hungry. Most of the scenes were shot at Sambas Lounge in Nanuet Mall which shows both rappers sitting at table eating as they spit their verses smoothly . Another cool scene was the drone flying above both artist and in slow motion.
This is a very dope record and what makes it even doper is the subject of my favorite food in the whole world Haitian Food. Also the music video is a Breathe of fresh air excluding the cliche nice cars, money and big bootie girls. Further more, anytime you have an artist representing a culture positively it makes the viewer more curious to learn more about that culture and maybe trying Haitian food someday.
